This year ended on a busy note, despite the recent economic downturn due to high mortgage rates. We had two of our larger projects under construction. The Holmhurst Multi-Gen Transformation in Bethesda, MD was completed in August, and the Woodridge Multi-Gen Transformation in NE DC is slated for completion next Spring. The Rosslyn Green home in Arlington VA is nearing completion. One bathroom is fully renovated, and the other wrapping up. The porch additions should be completed shortly after.
Studio Lyew mostly works on residential projects, but we also have a small number of commercial and institutional projects in our portfolio. This year we completed a schematic design for interior renovations to expand a highly successful tattoo shop in Columbia Heights NW DC. We look forward to expanding our commercial portfolio in the new year.
A trio of residential addition projects are in various stages of design. The Shaw 2-story rear addition project located in NW DC is expected to receive a building permit before the end of the year. This addition will expand an existing kitchen, and remodel the primary suite to include an ensuite bathroom. We completed permit drawings for a 2-story rear addition in Penn Branch, SE DC that will also receive a much needed kitchen expansion for a family of 5. This will include an additional bedroom on the second floor and a bathroom expansion to multiple compartments for maximum efficiency. We also have yet another addition project (4 in total) in Woodridge NE DC, currently in schematic design. This project will be a screened porch addition and sunroom conversion. Our other Woodridge projects include the Multi-Gen Transformation and the 24th Street Rear Addition.
