Happy Spring! We’ve been busy designing a couple new projects around the DMV that we’d like to share. The projects range in size from a small accessory dwelling addition to a substantial set of additions to a home in Brookland. They also include kitchen and bath renovations with various configurations.
McLean, VA – Renovation & Porch Addition
This project initially started as a kitchen remodel to expand the existing footprint but grew to include a front porch addition. The kitchen now includes an island to move around the space more easily, and substantially more storage. The front porch will provide much needed shelter at the entrance and a huge boost in curb appeal.
Langdon, NE DC – Solar Accessory Dwelling Addition
An accessory building at the rear of this property had an underutilized garage and open studio. The project will add a second floor bedroom and balcony, including a new kitchen and bathroom. A steel-framed pergola will support an array of solar panels for the ADU’s electric needs and double as shade for the balcony. The unit will use an electric hvac system and offer an electric car charger.
Brookland , NE DC – Renovation & Addition
This renovation will expand the existing kitchen to create a free-flowing circulation around a new island. The side addition on the first floor adds an ensuite primary bathroom. On the second floor, a rear addition will add a third bedroom, featuring a lofted reading nook. Other updates include a new library, powder room, and updated walk-in closet for the primary bedroom.
