Silver Spring Rear Addition & Kitchen Remodel

Located near downtown Silver Spring, this addition project significantly expands the existing kitchen footprint for a family of three. The rear addition will accommodate a new dining room and screened porch. A large opening to the addition will create an open plan between the kitchen & dining room, and a place for the new peninsula. The existing wall between the kitchen and living room will be preserved to maintain some separation but updated with new arched openings.

This project included removal of the existing oil-fired boiler and associated tank. The existing high velocity air conditioning was upgraded to full heating and cooling capability. Incoming gas service was disconnected, and the existing gas range swapped for an induction model. Electricity is supplied by existing solar panels and electric service as needed.
