A new 2-car garage replaces an old steel 1-car garage for this project near Logan Circle. Both Historic and BZA (Board of zoning adjustment) approvals were required due to the project’s location and size. To address the historic neighborhood requirements, the alley facade was designed to include a paneled overhead door, and decorative trim. A beaded lap siding was also utilized on the remaining sides to add more historic detail. The garage was slightly larger than what is generally allowed therefore a special exception was requested.
