10th Street Attic Conversion, Exterior Progress
We’re currently about 3 months into construction on our 10th Street Attic Conversion project. Interior finishing is about to kickoff
In order to create more space for an expanding family in Brookland, we’re converting an existing attic to a full third floor. The existing attic was significantly under-utilized due to the sloping ceilings. The new floor will replace the entire roof framing with a full floor to provide a new primary suite, including a walk-in closet. The remaining floor space will be used as an open gym space. From the street, the design preserves the original character of the home, keeping the existing front gable as a dormer feature. A complementary vertical siding on the addition helps to harmoniously scale the addition to it’s neighbors.
